Twitch’s mission is to pioneer multi-player entertainment and grow its global community of creators. Started in 2018 and relaunched in 2019, Twitch Rivals is Twitch’s streamer focused competition series. As Esports Creative & Editorial Director within the Twitch Esports department, you will drive the creative vision and execution of this flagship brand through online broadcasts and marquee live in-person events. This position will serve as the creative spark to enhance all visual elements across the product portfolio, develop storylines with returning and new content creators, create segment ideas, develop on-air talent and partner with product managers to design the look and feel of live physical events. This position is a unique opportunity to help define and build one of the most unique live online and event experiences that exists in entertainment, esports and gaming which blends the greatest of the Twitch community with ground breaking technology.


  • Drive editorial vision and execution across Twitch Rivals live competitions and original content across the growing product portfolio
  • Ensure creative continuity including look, feel, tone, personality and values of Twitch Rivals is reflected and highlighted through the content across all products both online and physical
  • Work with Esports Product Team and Production Operations to collaborate and elevate the production quality across all programs
  • Conceptualize show formats based on innovative gameplay rules partnering with Twitch Esports Product Management and Competition Design teams
  • Conceptualize original video segments to complement live studio, remote location and gameplay segments
  • Develop and implement creative briefs and storylines for online broadcasts and live in person events that capture viewer excitement and generate buzz
  • Elevate the use of still and motion graphics through broadcasts to better inform and enhance the Twitch viewing experience
  • Oversee external creative and agency relationships
  • Partner with Twitch Marketing team to align Esports products with overall Twitch brand guidelines and promotional strategy
  • Partner with game publishers to develop original content ideas as it relates to Twitch Esports competitions and events
  • Become an expert in streamers, stories, gameplay and history of most popular video games
  • Use consumer insights to deliver impactful storylines that are consistent with the Twitch brand
  • Identify, grow and work with on-air talent and streamers to integrate across Twitch Rivals programs
  • Build industry relationships with influential casters, players, streamers and celebrities
  • Drive creative strategy across all digital channels - Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, Discord, Reddit, website and app


  • 10+ years experience successfully creating, producing and branding large scale gaming, esports, broadcast or sports events distributed across various platforms
  • Proven track record of innovation within live production demonstrating an ability to take an idea and build a captivating storyline and produce a complete show
  • A natural storyteller with remarkable abilities in design, writing and character development
  • Credibility as a subject expert and strong relationships in the gaming and production world
  • Experience with multiplayer games, interactive entertainment & esports
  • Experience in all aspects of live TV production
  • Experience with editing, creative reviews and graphic design workflow
  • Ability to build creative plans within a defined budget
  • Highly creative and a prolific idea generator
  • Self-starting, resilient team player
  • Strong understanding of Twitch’s audience
  • Relentless attention to detail, curiosity and imagination
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment

  • A deep rolodex of contacts and endemic knowledge of how to use that rolodex to fill gaps. And as our workload scales, you know the best professionals in the industry to whom we can outsource this work as needed
  • Experience directly with esports live events. We want the best person for the job, regardless of if they’re joining us from a primarily esports background or not . However, any experience in leading production of video game live events is a bonus
  • A network of esports and general gaming connections. Some of our best ideas come from our friends. We’d love for you to bring some to the party
  • An active Twitch presence as a broadcaster, moderator, chatter, or lurker. We’re partial to folks who genuinely love our product
