The VP of Partnerships Role


We are looking for a VP of Partnerships to join our team. As the VP of Partnerships, you will manage all partnership relationships. We are looking for someone who can source, negotiate, and close partnerships. You will set objectives, leverage resources to optimize our portfolio, and control partnership planning. At times, you may be requested to create and execute content for special initiatives. The role requires a deep understanding of sponsorship models. We are looking for someone who is comfortable leading a negotiation process. Finally, we are looking for someone who has managerial experience and is comfortable with cross collaboration with other teams in the Company. This position reports directly to the CEO and will collaborate with the Science, Engineering, Marketing, and Product Teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with senior leadership to strategize short and long-term goals
  • Weekly update senior leadership of goal progress
  • Lead our business development for our GTM strategy
  • Source and negotiate new partnerships
  • Define projects, objectives, resources, timelines, budgets, and KPIs to support goals set by senior leadership
  • Effectively manage and cultivate new partnerships
  • Evaluate and prioritize partnership opportunities
  • Work directly with stakeholders both in and out of the Company
  • Work with legal teams to negotiate contracts
  • Research potentials partnerships through market analysis
  • Understand the needs of our partners and create strategies when needed to drive results
  • Travel will be required

Ideal Skills

  • 5+ years of experience with program, project, or account management, business development and/or other relevant client relationship experience
  • 2+ years of experience with people management
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Experience with deal structures for sponsorships and advertising
  • Ability to build positive relationships and influence, both within and outside areas of control
  • Strong network of relationships
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Experience working with media teams
  • A team-focused outlook on strategy
  • Proven negotiation competence
  • Basic software knowledge that includes. CRM Excel, PowerPoint, Keynote or similar program
