Weekly Esports Jobs Roundup #11

We're back with the latest breakdown of ten of the coolest jobs from the wide world of esports.

Welcome to the eleventh edition of our Weekly Esports Jobs Roundup!

We've got ten more awesome esports jobs to tell you about today, though if you've been keeping a keen eye on our Twitter and the board itself then you MAY have already caught them.

This is a really, really strong week despite the fact we saw a slight dip in the overall number of opportunities posted, as these stats will show you:

• In total there were 89 jobs in esports this week, which came from 53 esports organisations based in 12 countries around the world. Riot Games were the most active company this week, being responsible for 6 of these jobs. You can see 'em all on their company page, which is right here.

• Of these 89 esports jobs a massive 78.65% were PAID, with 65.17% of them being full-time, 4.49% of them being part-time and 8.99% being freelance. 17.98% of all roles were volunteer ones, with just 3.37% being internships - more internships please, esports world!

• In terms of the location breakdown, 49.44% of these openings were based in the United States, with 24.72% being Remote and 12.36% being based in the United Kingdom. South Korea accounted for 3.37% of the total, Germany 2.25% and then Canada, Denmark, France, India, Mexico (welcome to Hitmarker!), Netherlands and Poland were each responsible for 1.12%.

We just kind of slow-walked you into the stats this time, huh? Sneaky, sneaky.

So let's get to it, starting with our most popular job of the past seven days...

There's a mouse in the house, and it's offering a really great esports opportunity!

You don't see many Social Media Manager positions at organisations of this size, let alone positions that are both REMOTE and FREELANCE.

Better yet, they aren't ruling out current students in the job description, and long-term they're offering the chance of a full-time position with the team.

Oh, did we mention that you'll also get to travel around the world going to events with them too?

Awesome, awesome job! And here's another one...

Envy featured in last week's roundup too, but they dropped a couple of new roles this week and this was our favourite of the pair.

A lot of sales and sponsorship roles in esports have absolutely enormous barriers to entry when it comes to experience, but this job is only asking for five years in digital marketing (which may seem like a lot, but it's really not when most companies ask for seven and above).

Texas is going to become more and more of a hub for the industry as time goes by too, so the successful candidate will also position themselves perfectly for long-term success by getting this.

Now for this writer's PERSONAL favourite of the week...

Bandai Namco are on the hunt for an esports wizard to add to their team in Santa Clara in one of the most interesting and wide-ranging job descriptions we've ever posted on Hitmarker.

They're asking for someone who can collaborate with branding, PR, events, agencies and international partners to plan and execute their esports strategy in North America.

Naturally that means you'll be expected to have amazing project management and communication skills, but we know a bunch of you reading this have both!

So if you can work on the West Coast and you've been waiting for something MAJOR to drop, then maybe this is the one for you?

However, if you're closer to London than California, we've got you covered too...

The Players' Lobby are a super unique organisation and also have a great remote League of Legends Writer (Freelance) role open at the moment - so that's definitely worth a look if this doesn't fit you.

However, this Editor role is a great chance for an esports journalist to get some full time paid work in the industry (not an easy thing to do, sadly!)

If you've got strong copywriting skills and a wide range of digital media experience then you're halfway there, but you'll also need to know one esports title REALLY well and to have used WordPress plenty in the past.

Still, that's not a huge ask for such a cool opportunity right?

Speaking of cool opportunities...

This is definitely one of the most interesting esports organisations we've seen on Hitmarker!

Why? We'll tell you...

They're literally the first dedicated communications company in the scene and what makes them even cooler is the fact that they're run by three kickass women.

Kalie Moore, Nicola Piggott and Anna Rozwandowicz have worked in senior positions for BITKRAFT, Riot and ESL, respectively, and decided to come together to found The Story Mob last year.

They already count Team Liquid, Fnatic and DOJO MADNESS amongst their clients and they're looking for a brand new PR Coordinator to join their team. If you're a kickass female then this looks like the dream job for you!

A slight change of pace with the next one...

Razer are flippin' huge and you'll find a few of their roles on Hitmarker every single week, but we haven't seen many as exciting as this one.

We know a TON of you out there are on the hunt for community management roles in esports and that a good few of you have photoshop and web design skills in your locker as well.

If that's the case for you and you could work in California, then you owe it to yourself to take a deeper dive into this one to see what it's all about.

Now we mentioned Team Liquid a little earlier, and if that got you excited then you'll love this next opportunity...

Esports writers assemble!

Now those of you who don't know anything about Heroes of the Storm dissemble(?)!

Alright, those of you who are left are in for a real treat...

LiquidHeroes are on the hunt for a Writer (in addition to a Copy Editor and Social Media Manager) to work on a remote, freelance basis. There's that location/contract flexibility that we love so much again!

If you're able to write effectively and persuasively, plus you're and avid fan of Heroes of the Storm then they want to hear from you. So don't disappoint them, click the job block and apply now.

From one super creative role to another...

We're happy to see more and more Videographer roles appearing on Hitmarker in 2018, but this is one of the greatest we've posted yet (and the activity the job has had in terms of clicks proves it).

eUnited are one of the fastest growing esports organisations in North America and they're looking for someone to travel to events, direct documentaries and create fun content videos on a remote, part-time basis.

Sounds pretty awesome right? Well that's why it's in the Weekly Esports Jobs Roundup!

Let's head to a country we've never been before next...

Viva Mexico!

Welcome to Hitmarker guys and thanks to Riot for posting our first ever job from "south of the border"!

Our love for Riot is well known by now, but even we didn't realise they had opportunities on offer in Mexico City. So when we saw this Player Support Manager role drop we knew we just HAD to include it in our top ten this week.

It's also pretty cool that it's a radically different type of role to the others that we've posted, so it's well worth taking a look to see if it's something you'd be awesome at.

Time to finish up with our favourite esports internship of the week...

An esports internship in Las Vegas?! Alright, alright, alright!

If you're enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's program with concentration on Business or Technology then DON'T GO ANYWHERE!

Caesar's Entertainment are searching for someone just like you to conduct market research in esports and virtual/augmented reality. Sounds freakin' sweet!

You'll need to be technology savvy with strong analytical, business and communication skills, but this'd be a hell of a thing to put on your esports resume.

What a way to finish, huh?

Thanks for taking the time to read the roundup, we hope there was something here that got you excited!

If not, then be sure to keep checking the board and following us on Twitter. We're averaging around 15 esports jobs per day at the moment, so there's bound to be something perfect for you sooner rather than later.

Oh, and if you see something you like but worry you're not suited to it then follow the instructions below to get in touch with us. We'll help you with your application, for FREE.

See you next week,

The Hitmarker Team
