Amazon Lumberyard is a free AAA game engine deeply integrated with AWS and Twitch. We are looking for a Senior Graphics Engineer to own cutting-edge low level rendering technology on the Graphics team. You will design, implement and optimize rendering features to excel on different GPUs and platforms.

Key Responsibilities Include

  • Be responsible for designing, implementing, optimizing and maintaining advanced graphics technology, including the HAL.
  • Research and stay current with cutting edge rendering techniques, hardware and algorithms and work with the team to ensure they are performant on all supported platforms and GPUs.
  • Drive design and architecture decisions that result in strong balance of performance, flexibility, and maintainability
  • Write high performance, highly maintainable, low-level renderer, code.
  • Work effectively with game engineers and artists on new rendering features and functionality
  • Work with GPU and platform manufacturers to ensure the renderer has a highly optimized implantation on all supported platforms

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science (or equivalent) experience
  • 5+ years professional experience in software development
  • 3+ years of real-time rendering engineering experience
  • 1+ years experience in current real-time rendering techniques
  • 1+ shipped title with a high fidelity video game in which you developed rendering technology

Preferred Qualifications

  • Have strong C++ knowledge and experience with high performance programming techniques, including multithreading, memory, CPU and GPU optimization.
  • Thorough knowledge and experience in application of cutting edge rendering techniques and algorithms
  • Deep knowledge of a broad range of graphics APIs including DirectX 12 and Vulkan
  • Experience with developing rendering solutions for mobile
  • Shipped one or more AAA titles (or equivalent experience)
