Amazon Lumberyard is a free AAA game engine deeply integrated with AWS and Twitch. We're looking for pioneers who can imagine and deliver world-class technology for tomorrow's most celebrated games.

We are looking for a Software Development Engineer to join our customer experience team, responsible for the startup experience when working with Lumberyard game engine. In this position you will be working on a team of really smart engineers and content creators, working on hard and interesting problems that are critical to improving the startup experience of Lumberyard including engine installation, engine management, and project management.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Improve and extend the installation functionality of the engine
  • Designing and building application frameworks, working closely with customers and other teams in Lumberyard
  • Solve challenging problems that are often not well defined by writing reliable, performant, elegant and practical code

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
  • 4+ years of professional software engineering experience, working on multi-discipline teams
  • 4+ years of coding experience in C++
  • Cross platform development experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Multiple shipped PC/Console titles
  • Experience with UI frameworks such as QT and Electron
  • Experience working on shared/core game engine technology teams
  • Advanced software engineering skills, including the ability to write expert-level, maintainable, and robust C++ code
  • Strong analytical thinker who knows how to pick the right tool for the job
  • Strong Computer Science fundamentals in algorithms and data structures
