In 2020, the official global esports league of Call of Duty will expand to a new franchised-team format, featuring the best players from around the world. Nine teams have been announced to date in Atlanta, Dallas, Florida, two teams in Los Angeles, Minnesota, New York, Paris, and Toronto, bringing more competitive events to fans in cities around the globe in a home and away gameplay format. Additional information related to the evolution of Call of Duty esports is forthcoming and we’re looking to add to our team to help achieve success for launch.

The tournament administrator is a hands-on competition operations role managing amateur and any other non-pro competitions taking place at League events. The tournament administrator will manage schedules, point tracking and logistics through the course of the event.

Responsibilities

  • Manage large scale amateur tournaments from start to finish, including competitor check-in, bracket seeding, station assignments, score reporting, and finalizing competition results
  • Disseminate key information to info booth staff and other stakeholders as the competition progresses
  • Work closely with the head referee, IT support, and other competition operations staff to maintain an accurate competition schedule
  • Be a functional expert in the competition operations software and tools in managing competitions
  • Coordinate broadcasted matches with the broadcast and event teams to ensure matches are played on schedule

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 1+ year of experience in tournament administration or customer service, preferably in a technical environment
  • A passion for esports and gaming, including the Call of Duty esports community
  • In-depth knowledge of CWL rules and tournament structures
  • Strong understanding of esports competitions, formats and rules, especially FPS
  • Experience working with competitive players or talent in a professional environment
  • Organized, extremely detail-focused, and driven to consistently provide clear communications
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Possess excellent interpersonal and diplomatic skills, while maintaining an ability to always stay focused on the work at hand
  • High proficiency in the Microsoft office suite including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Able to travel, including international travel
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
