Counter Logic Gaming (CLG) is a premier North American esports organization known for its passionate fan base and winning culture. Summary

The Head of Scouting and Analytics is someone with a passion for talent acquisition and data analysis. This role is responsible for creating scouting systems across multiple teams. Additionally, the position will assist analysts and teams in data-gathering. This candidate will be able to assist teams in making informed data-based decisions. The role will create internal systems and increase efficiencies around scouting and in-game analysis.

Specific Functions/Activities Summary

  • Develop scouting and analytic systems across multiple esports titles.
  • Work directly with each team’s analyst(s) to optimize scouting systems.
  • Develop analytic tools and techniques to assist in data-driven decisions.
  • Manage scouts across multiple teams. Assign tasks to scouts and manage their workflow.
  • Optimize the collection of personnel, human behavior, and strategy data across multiple teams.
  • Work directly with coaches to assist in the development of scouting processes.
  • Assist in talent scouting initiatives.
  • Collaborate with software partners and enhance internal software systems.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Proficient in the design and implementation of databases.
  • Proficient in one or more programming language.
  • Experience in analysis, scripting, and visualization languages.
  • Ability to record and edit basic videos to assist in conveying key concepts, ideas, plays, etc.
  • Good communication and social skills. Prompt with responses.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Education: Business, Data or Predictive Analytics, Data or Management Science, Computer Science/Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Mathematics, or related field.
  • Usability research experience.
  • Strong analytical thinking.
  • Documentation of previous work, or work examples strongly preferred.
  • Strong regional connections with professional organizations and professional players.

Education

Candidates who have completed 60 credits of college-level coursework (representing 2 years), or have shown similar self-development through certifications, trade school coursework, etc. are preferred.
