JOB SUMMARY:

It is the responsibility of the Lounge Server to expedite guests' drink orders and to provide beverage and bussing service to ensure a memorable experience for guests. All duties are to be performed in accordance with ESALV policies, practices, procedures, dress code and service standards.

SCOPE:

The Lounge Server, together with the ESALV team members, will work to ensure a positive guest experience during the course of serving food and drink orders and providing food and beverage service.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ability and willingness to work in a fast-paced and high-volume environment and move through high volume crowds efficiently and respectfully while carrying trays of food and cocktails
  • Greet guests in a timely manner and request food and beverage orders
  • Place drink and food orders, and serve both food and beverage offerings
  • Expedite drink and food orders for each party quickly and accurately
  • Provide excellent service to guests and ensure their complete satisfaction. This includes greeting and interacting with guests in a friendly and enthusiastic manner, building trust and delighting guests, anticipating and meeting guest needs and preferences
  • Ability to remaining calm and professional when dealing with guests that are difficult or upset
  • Keep tables neat and orderly by removing glassware/dishware no longer in use. Assists in bussing of tables, and resetting table for next seating
  • Ensure receipt of accurate payments
  • Anticipate guest needs, when possible
  • Take ownership of guest issues or problems and take action to quickly resolve them, and caring about and valuing guests
  • Perform side work as assigned by manager before and after each shift.
  • Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of assigned station and service areas and rectifying any deficiencies
  • Complete opening and closing duties, which includes but is not limited to: properly storing all reusable goods, removing all items from tables, placing clean items in designated areas, wiping clean all surfaces, restocking supply cabinet, securing all storage areas, stacking cocktail napkins, stocking straws, picks, matches, and glassware
  • Ensure compliance with Company food, beverage and alcohol service and identification policies
  • Adhere to all responsible food and alcohol serving requirements as dictated by the state
  • Ability to develop and maintain professional, trusting, and positive working relationships with managers, supervisors, staff, coworkers, guests, and vendors
  • Demonstrate cooperation, approachability, and the ability to take time to listen to and address others’ questions or concerns; treat others with kindness, respect, and dignity; and express empathy and compassion when dealing with the needs and problems of others
  • Ability to participate as a committed member of a team. This includes cooperating and working well with other team members to accomplish goals and meet guest needs, being supportive of others, willingly helping others, objectively considering others’ ideas and opinions, sharing information with others, adhering to team expectations and guidelines, giving proper credit to others, and fulfilling team responsibilities
  • Ability and willingness to ensure that work activities are completed accurately, efficiently, and in a timely manner
  • Ability to work safely. This includes clearly understanding and following company safety policies and procedures, completing work in a safe manner, caring about safety of self and others, responding appropriately in an emergency, and reporting unsafe conditions
  • Ability and willingness to learn and obtain a working knowledge of food and beverages on the menu, including characteristics of wine, liquor brands, beer, designated glassware, terminology, and garnishes
  • Assist with training/mentoring of new employees as requested
  • Maintain all assigned wardrobe/costumes/uniforms and appearance in accordance with established uniform guidelines
  • Maintain professionalism and a friendly and approachable demeanor throughout shift
  • Prepare any part of the venue for a special event. This may include carrying tables, decorations, materials and similar duties
  • Inform manager on duty of any irregularities and unusual situations when they occur
