We are looking for a Business Development Manager to develop and drive new opportunities and support our monetization efforts for Garena business. You will proactively seek strategic payment partnership and opportunities. You have relevant experience in structuring and executing commercial approach with sports or esports related industries.

You will work closely with Broadcast and League Management teams and collaborate with a broad range of Garena departments in Brazil and Overseas. Meanwhile, assisting Garena games to build up a strong relationship with Brazilian local brands to help the game in the cross-industry promotion and eSports sponsorship.

Job Description:

  • Explore new payment channels. Research, build, negotiate and close on a pipeline of payment vendors and other potential partners in the region
  • Maintain the relationship and operational health of the current payment systems
  • Identify and evaluate appropriate business opportunities for Garena Brazil Esports and trade, conduct due diligence, and make recommendations with local and international teams
  • Support and work on all phases of a deal process
  • Maintain the relationship and operational health of the current payment systems
  • Source new business opportunities
  • Develop business opportunities for internal consideration and approval
  • Draft deal structure and provide financial analysis
  • Collaborate with other diverse teams within Garena to accomplish the deal
  • Guide our Brazil esport merchandising approach
  • Follow up on royalty statements and monitor partner payment compliance
  • Oversee activities with Garena’s regional local broadcast partners (i.e. Web TVs, TV and Telco partners)
  • Maintain deep understanding and current awareness of the esports, sports and entertainment industry


  • At least 5 years of professional experience in successfully structuring, negotiating and closing deals with industry partners in the esports, sport or entertainment industries
  • A natural networker with contacts across agencies, payment platforms and major commercial partners within Brazil and experience with broadcast licenses, partnerships, and joint ventures
  • Have ability to enter negotiations fully informed about internal considerations, knowing how to navigate the situation to best settle differences and, ideally, win concessions
  • Experience in driving a product from creative conception all the way to market launch
  • In-depth knowledge about mobile mobile game market in Brazil is a plus
  • Proficient in spoken and written English
