Founded in Newcastle upon Tyne, England in May 2017 and fully operational since January 2018, ghostwhite is a digital design agency working exclusively in esports.

Self-funded and with a small, dedicated team of full-time employees the company conducts project work for clients but also owns and operates two brands in the space:

  • Hitmarker - the biggest jobs site in esports

  • NØSLEEP - an authentic clothing and lifestyle brand

We are seeking a creative and enthusiastic UI Designer to work across all aspects of the business.

This means producing high fidelity wireframes and mockups for client work, but also styling out new features and pages for the Hitmarker and NØSLEEP websites too.

Our ideal candidate is an esports fan (or casual gamer) who has the raw skills to contribute from day one, but who is also hungry to learn more about the design and development process in a startup environment.

This role is offered on a full-time basis in our office in the centre of Newcastle.

We're hoping to find someone who excels with User Interface, but who isn't afraid of contributing in other areas when required:

  • Guide our in-house development team by producing high quality wireframes and mockups for website and mobile applications

  • Be heavily involved in the creation of brand assets and brand guidelines for new clients

Hitmarker // NØSLEEP

  • Come up with designs for new features and additional pages on both websites

  • Help evolve every element of both brands from a visual perspective

  • As you’ll be working in a startup environment you’ll occasionally be expected to get your hands dirty in a few other areas. This could mean producing graphics (or motion graphics) for our social medias or helping out with ideas for new clothing designs.

We only ask for one thing from you here:

  • A keen eye for UI (regardless of what software or tool you use)

None of these are necessary, but if you have them in your locker please be sure to tell us:

  • Adobe After Effects (or equivalent)

  • CMS

  • CSS

  • HTML

  • Javascript

  • PHP

We're not worried if you don't have experience of a professional environment, but these three things are essential:

  • You're eligible to work in the UK

  • You have your own laptop

  • You're interested in esports and/or gaming

This is on the low side to begin with, but we operate a flat structure here. This means you'll be paid the same as the person sitting next to you (if they're in the same age band), and that as the business grows so will your salary:

  • £12,272 per year (18-20), £15,350.40 per year (21-24) or £16,286.40 per year (25+)

If money in the here and now isn't your everything, then please let us talk dirty to you:

  • Relocation assistance if you’re not local to Newcastle

  • Future equity on offer to someone who makes an impact

  • 28 days paid holiday per year (including bank holidays)

  • A relaxed working environment in a great city centre location

  • PS4 and XB1 consoles in the office for regular gaming breaks

  • Free tea/coffee, snacks and weekly team outings (usually dinner/drinks)

This bit is important and could be the difference between you making it through to the next stage or not, so read carefully:

Please send us (1) a cover letter, (2) your resume and (3) a link to some of your best work.

**Applications missing any of these elements will not be considered**

You'll be required to complete a technical exercise as the second stage of the application process. An in-person interview in our office will be the final stage.
