The Audio Systems Architect will be responsible for managing the definition and integration across technical teams to productize, deliver and support headset design. The role will additionally involve providing system level expertise for the product roadmap. The individual in this position will lead the team of technical specialists responsible for user experience testing, act as a key resource and point of contact for internal teams, global support teams and customers to resolve technical issues.

We are looking for an individual with a strong background in audio architecture for consumer electronics products, specifically gaming headsets. A proven track record in defining audio system hardware solutions is required, including but not limited to handsets or voice-enabled smart devices.

The candidate should have the ability to manage the optimal integration of algorithms, firmware and software, low-power DSPs, mixed-signal audio hardware, transducers and acoustic design and how they translate into a compelling end user experience. In this position, you will be working with algorithm developers, firmware and software developers.

Responsibilities:

  • Architect, implement and deliver scalable and supportable reference platforms which demonstrate company’s features.
  • Identify and organize technical development work for core team. Work as system integrator in core team comprising algorithms, firmware and software, hardware, acoustics and test teams.
  • Manage day-to-day operations, such as managing product testing schedules and creation of technical documentation for customers and internal teams
  • Work with lead partners in development of solutions within the end-product.
  • Oversee team projects for product design testing, compatibility, validation pre-launch and technical improvements during the life of the products.
  • Work closely with R&D and VLSI design to review chip architecture options within the system constraints and decide on tradeoffs.
  • Build prototypes, proof-of-concepts and demonstrations
  • Work closely with application engineering to draft product integration notes and necessary collateral.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of engineering experience.
  • At least two years of systems experience in audio/voice products.
  • Gaming industry experience is preferred.
  • Significant experience in embedded architecture of consumer audio products
  • Knowledge of electronics troubleshooting, reading schematics and data sheets for components
  • Familiarity with embedded firmware and software.
  • Self-motivated with track record of successfully meeting deadlines.
  • Analytical, resourceful, organized and detail-oriented
  • Ability to work on several projects in parallel is essential.
