The Head Coach is expected to assist in managing the operation of the esports program including, but not limited to: recruiting, retention, managing the team, scheduling, fundraising, equipment control and monitoring of the esports facility, game/practice management, player strategy development, academic monitoring, and mentoring appropriately.


  • Competitive esports experience involving multiplayer online video games with team-based elements and experience in at least one of the following games: League of Legends, Overwatch, Rocket League, Fortnite & Super Smash Bros Ultimate.
  • Knowledge of and commitment to all institutional and esports governing bodies rules and regulations including, but not limited to NACE/Tespa/CSL/ECAC/cLoL philosophy, eligibility, sport playing season, etc.
  • Assist in instructing, teaching and coaching student-athletes during practices and competition.
  • Conduct video analysis and instruction as a teaching and preparation tool.
  • Assist in identifying, evaluating and recruiting potential team members to LC that fit the model of LC athletics and the College as a whole.
  • Assist in retaining current LC students as team members.
  • Assist in ensuring ongoing eligibility of student athletes in the esports program and monitor their academic progress.
  • Conduct inventory of uniforms, supplies and equipment to ensure effective maintenance of physical resources.
  • Work with SID to provide accurate data for individual and team accomplishments, as well as game scores.
  • Provide reports and documentation when required by the Esports Program Director and the Director of Athletics.


  • Valid Pennsylvania Driver’s License.
  • Current certification in American Red Cross CPR / First Aid.
  • Trained in use of Automatic Electrodes Defibrillator (AED).
  • Knowledge of safety guidelines and protocol.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work harmoniously with others.
  • Commitment to fulfillment of the College mission.
  • Must always be able to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.


Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.


  • Prior coaching experience required.
  • Experience/knowledge in offered game titles.
  • Experience with recruiting preferred.
  • Experience with fundraising preferred.
