Nicecactus Media is seeking an experienced journalist/writer in order to create content and articles for their media section on nicecactus.gg. The ideal candidate will be a proven digital journalist. This position includes coverage of multiple esports games, so flexibility is key. Rather than possessing a strong knowledge on one specific game, we would prefer candidates with a global knowledge of the esports scene, willing to constantly learn new things and share them with our community. This position is part of a newly created content team.

The person chosen for this role will be responsible for:

  • Providing a global coverage of big esports news.
  • Reporting and producing content and articles for our platform, including breaking news, features, and possibly photos/video.
  • Contributing to a curated newsletter.
  • Working with the social media team in order to promote content across all our social media channels.
  • Developing exclusive sources and storylines.
  • Building digital stories with clickable headlines that include links, tags, multimedia and SEO.
  • Covering esports with the highest levels of journalistic ethics and integrity.

The candidate should possess strong news judgment and excellent verbal and analytic skills; must have the ability to work with assigned deadlines; must have ability to interact productively and enthusiastically with fellow employees and all levels of management.

This job requires a relatively flexible work schedule. It may include nights, weekends and holidays for some specific events. Travel may be involved.

Job Requirements

Bachelors’ degree in journalism or related field. We will consider related experience in lieu of education.

Two years professional writing experience. Please include with resume and application five clips designed to reflect attributes applicable to this job.

A native English level is required, as well as a very good Spanish level.

Since our main office is based in Biot, France, speaking French is a strong asset.

Please send your application materials and any questions to Erwan Lancelot, Editorial Manager, at the email address linked to the Apply button and add "ESPORTS JOURNALIST APPLICATION" in the heading.
