Psyonix, an independent video game developer located in downtown San Diego, is looking for a passionate, creative, and organized Senior Brand Manager to drive our brand and promotional efforts. As a direct report to our Director of Marketing, you will be responsible for daily oversight and management of creative services, licensing and partnerships, first party support, media buying and sales promotions.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Working with the Director of Marketing and cross-functional teams (production, design, art, online services, business intelligence) to develop detailed strategic marketing plans for all Rocket League initiatives.
  • Coordinating with the Communications team to execute on the Rocket League brand and promotional initiatives, including in-game events, game content updates, DLCs, and co-promotions.
  • Owning, establishing, and driving paid media and co-marketing strategies, including implementation and daily management of media plans with agencies.
  • Managing relationships and negotiations with external licensing partners, first party publishing platforms and retail sales.
  • Assisting and collaborating with creative services and to develop innovative and authentic marketing assets, social media content and ad creative, ensuring buy-in from key internal stakeholders and timely execution.
  • Participating in the development of the marketing budget for Rocket League and managing compliance and tracking with finance and legal.
  • Evaluating and developing post-mortems for all marketing initiatives, coordinating feedback from business intelligences, development teams and external agencies.
  • Coordinating marketing research and focus groups with Business Intelligence in order to incorporate key finding into future initiatives.
  • NOTE: Travel will be needed as required

Ideal Candidate Must Have:

  • 5-7 years of experience in video game marketing, brand management or related fields
  • Proficiency with business-related software, including Microsoft Office, Confluence/Jira, Google App suite and production tools.
  • Excellent understanding of digital strategy and proven ability to execute campaigns across search, social and online - including experience with media agencies and 1st party platforms.
  • Healthy business analytics, strategic development, project management, consumer research, relationship management, and problem-solving skills
  • A strong background in business/game analytics and competitive analysis - including a keen understanding and awareness of industry trends.
  • Ability to translate campaign results into actionable insights and optimization - including developing key KPI and ROI metrics/dashboards
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with an attention to detail
  • Creative and critical thinking skills
  • Strong self-motivation and work ethic
  • A team-focused outlook with a high degree of tact and diplomacy


  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, business, or related fields
  • A passion for gaming
  • A deep knowledge of Rocket League and previous Psyonix projects and games
  • Previous experience on a "Game as a Service” or session-based game titles
  • A knowledge of the esports and competitive video game scene
