Scuf Gaming, which operates in the hardware space in the entertainment and video gaming industry, has an exciting opportunity for a Human Resources Directorwho will own the Human Resources function.

The ideal candidate is a dynamic leader willing to embrace change while striving to cultivate, inspire, and preserve our human capital. This role is expected to identify and integrate policies and procedures to improve the overall value proposition to our staff which will enhance their employment experience. The candidate will help encourage and create an environment that supports a positive relationship between the teams bridging management and employee relations in an effort to support optimal performance.

As an integral part of the senior leadership team, the Senior HR Manager will collaborate successfully with leaders of the company to drive the business forward.He/she will assess the human resources opportunities against the business needs and communicate a clear vision and strategic plan that will support key financial goals for the Company.

Reports to: Chief Executive Officer

Direct reports: HR Coordinator, Recruiter

Other key relationships: CMO, CFO, VP of Operations, IT

Responsibilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Participates in decision-making processes from a human resources perspective, identifying the effect of human factors on long-range business planning, interpreting human resources policy, proactively and organically formulating and recommending new policy as well as recommending change in existing policy to meet business goals and objectives.
  • Anticipates and plans for change in human resources area as to organizational structure, employee motivation and staffing, and total reward systems.
  • Works with management to resolve conflict or controversy to facilitate achievement of established business objectives. Anticipates human resources issues and problems and prepares alternatives and contingency plans.
  • Recommends and reports on proper ratios of productivity, considering relationship of human resources costs to profits.
  • Coordinates and implements operational human resources objectives, including staffing requirements, employee selection, training and development, rewards (fixed, variable, non-cash), employee relations, employee communication, terminations, safety, sexual harassment and compliance with EEO and other laws.
  • Partners with management team in developing bench strength – i.e. Succession planning, performance management, training, diversity.
  • Acts as confidante to management on all matters of business; provides human resources guidance and counsel to managers and employees; counsels managers regarding disciplinary actions.
  • Leads the salary and benefit programs, including fixed and variable compensation plans.
  • Manages the recruitment and selection process.
  • Maintains the employee handbook and onboarding experience.
  • Processes payroll.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (accredited) in Human Resources, Business Administration or similar area of study, or in lieu of degree, High School Diploma or GED (accredited) and 10 years of relevant work experience.
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience in a manager or director level HR role.
  • Proven success in employee development and retention.
  • PHR, SHRM-CP (preferred).
  • Strong analytical and diagnostic skills; understands business strategies/P&L, develops HR strategies that drives business results.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills – ability to influence and lead by example.
  • Extensive knowledge of HR systems and databases.
