Who we’re looking for:

An innovative Director of Brand and Creative Services to develop and execute the creative strategy for the Company and own the development of the overall brand strategy and plan to raise brand visibility in the market, globally. The ideal candidate is a seasoned brand strategist, who is creative, analytical, and well-versed in all disciplines of brand management, with experience elevating brands through innovative, compelling storytelling and creative campaigns. The candidate will collaborate closely with Product Marketing, Content, Campaign/Demand Gen Marketing, Integrated Campaigns and others in Corporate Marketing on the development and production of innovative and high-quality brand assets including campaigns, collateral, digital and event experiences. The candidate will also work closely with User Acquisition and Player Lifecycle Marketing in Consumer Marketing on the strategy and production of assets for social media and email campaigns. This position is a senior role responsible for the plan to build, grow and mentor a high performing creative team and creative vendor pool.

Duties And Responsibilities:

  • Drive overall brand strategy for Skillz with ownership of our brand platform, brand architecture, messaging/positioning frameworks, voice and tone
  • Orchestrate the efforts of a creative team of visual designers and content creators in developing marketing assets for B2C and B2B LOBs including User Acquisition, Player Lifecycle, Developer Marketing, AR, PR, IR and Web Services
  • Work closely with UA team to turn data-driven insights into creative strategy and execution across multiple advertising channels including social media
  • Work in partnership with our developer marketing and product marketing teams on naming and messaging architecture and strategy
  • Ensure consistency of brand identity, messaging, and visual expressions across corporate, product, partner, and customer communications
  • Manage budgets and important partnerships with agencies, content creators, and other vendors to develop strategy, and execute to maximize results
  • Manage a company-wide brand site that allows for sharing and distribution of global brand assets, including a photo library and corporate templates

Your Skillz:

  • Bachelor’s degree required ideally in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, and/or Mass Communications
  • 15 years of experience leading brand strategy and creative teams both in a corporate and agency environment. B2B/B2C experience required
  • Experience with visual design principles and content creation
  • Gaming or software/services industry experience a plus
  • Highly motivated and committed leader with management experience including setting the vision for a team, driving towards goals, and offering development and mentoring
  • Proven track record in creating innovative and targeted brand campaigns and programs that generate results
  • Experience managing brand agencies and vendors
    World class track record for generating successful corporate campaigns across all channels
  • Proactive and outgoing with a get-it-done every-time attitude.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, and can be equally effective in both formal and informal settings with customers, senior executives, peers and business partners
  • Accomplished range of skills from high-level strategic thinking to creative and detailed execution
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced hyper-growth environment
