Job Summary:

Are you an email marketing whiz with expertise using CRM email platforms and developing high performing targeted email campaigns?

We’re looking for an experienced Email Marketing Specialist to join our global marketing team in Chicago. This role will own all email marketing for SteelSeries including new product launch communications, our newsletter, promotional campaigns, loyalty program communications, and creating contextual email marketing campaigns to drive ecommerce traffic. This also includes triggered emails and drip campaigns based on CRM data. You’ll be developing unique content and working with various marketing teams around the world to provide the best email content to drive engagement, sales, and build email into a major channel for the company.

The role reports to the Director of Global Marketing and will be based in our headquarters in Chicago, IL. The ultimate candidate will thrive in and foster a fun and fast paced environment and have an entrepreneurial spirit and drive. Plus, you must possess a passion for consumer electronics, the gaming world, and both a creative and data driven mindset.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own and manage email marketing end to end including contact strategy, content planning, editorial calendar, delivery, and performance optimization
  • Drive continuous improvement across email KPIs including, open rates, click-to-open rates, conversion rates, opt-out rates, and sales revenue.
  • Management and growth of email distribution lists including implementing new methods to grow the email database and opt-in
  • Partner with regional marketing leads around the world to integrate locally relevant content
  • Develop contextual email marketing or drip campaigns based on CRM/customer data
  • Regular analysis and reporting of email performance to optimize content, messaging, delivery, open rates and engagement
  • Partner with engineering team to improve back-end automation, as well as to launch and optimized customer journeys and triggered campaigns
  • Own and manage the email marketing platform as part of our CRM implementation

Minimum Requirements:

  • Email marketing experience working in a consumer-focused, data-driven online environment for an e-Commerce business.
  • Solid understanding of customer segmentation and database marketing principles
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills to clearly articulate ideas and present results
  • Solid project management skills to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Knowledge of best practices for email creative, templates, segmentation, and dynamic content.
  • Experience with analytics tools and tracking specifically Google Analytics as well as proficiency using one or more of the following mainstream Email/CRM Platforms: Marketo, Active Campaign, or Klaviyo
  • Consumer hardware or gaming related experience a plus!
  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Marketing or related field required.
  • Experience with HTML, CSS, and Adobe Creative Suite and SQL a big plus.
