Role Summary

The Productions Manager under minimum direction and acting with considerable independence, performs advanced, diversified Production Management duties and provide complete Production support to the VP, NY Productions. Help manage the complex day-to-day details of advanced Production duties that contributes to the efficient operation and performance of the business units. Projects will include work on The Radio City Christmas Spectacular, Rockette Administration and special projects as needed. Also assist in developing plans and budgets for new and future productions.

Specific Functions/Activities Summary

  • Attend production and creative meetings. Assist in translating all issues and setting course of action.
  • Research and prepare budget estimates including labor to be incorporated into the Show Production Budget, Operation budgets and Quarterly Reviews.
  • Actively engage in all conversation and meetings to assist in keeping things moving and/or directing the inquiry in the right direction
  • Use various PC software packages such as spreadsheets, word processing, and graphics to
  • produce high quality reports, presentations, or other documents.
  • Act as liaison between the Executives’ and external contacts. Coordinate activities conduct research and ensure that requests are carried out.
  • Assist Executive and take the lead in special projects as needed.
  • Research regarding all production aspects of live theater events, special events, television and venues. Extensive use of Internet research tools a must.
  • Plan and execute auditions for all Spectaculars, including liasoning with Director, Casting Director, coordinating and managing logistics, securing advertising, maintaining records and data base, and contacting and contracting talent.
  • Execute both in season and out of season cast communications, field cast questions and oversee payroll inquires and follow up. As well as, manage seasonal vendors as necessary
  • Manage seasonal décor installation project, including vendor logistics and internal planning
  • Work with vendors and legal on implementation of show contracts as needed.
  • Independently manage special projects relating to production and development
  • Oversee set up and hiring of seasonal personel and payment follow through
  • Coordinate with PR and events including Santa and/or the ensemble

Qualifications

  • 7-10 years experience in directing large scale, big budget Productions, choreographing diverse dance routines, teaching, training, auditioning prospective and current dancers
  • A proven ability to maintain high artistic standards and work collaboratively with other artists and administrators
  • An understanding of professional company operations including financial issues and management in a matrixed organization
  • Exemplary work ethic, with the ability to work quickly and under pressure
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize as new situations and initiatives arise on short notice
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
  • Strong management and leadership skills
