We will pair our knowledge and resources with creators to re-invent the definition of entertainment, and in turn, drive Twitch to be the only place where fans can experience live, interactive, shared experiences.

Twitch seeks a candidate to build the editorial and go-to-market strategy for Twitch’s Content portfolio. The Head of Programming will be responsible for creating the master framework, as well as informing, shaping and evangelizing decisions across Content and Marketing.

The Head of Programming needs a balance of metrics-driven insights & a honed editorial instinct for what makes content success with audiences.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the portfolio strategy for Twitch’s full content mix across user generated content from streamers, original content produced by Twitch Studios, and acquired content.
  • Understand the audience segmentation strategy for the Twitch brand, and develop a coherent content planning strategy mapped to the acquisition and retention of those segments
  • Build the framework for the go-to-market strategy for content tune in, in partnership with Marketing, aligning with key brand campaigns and audience messaging strategy
  • Evaluate the value of various content formats for return on investment, and inform resource allocation decisions across the content development and acquisition departments
  • Partner with Product Management and Product Marketing to inform a product roadmap that aids in the creation and discoverability of content
  • Drive the user engagement funnel with content on-platform via compelling editorial and promotion strategy
  • Develop an editorial point-of-view for Twitch content, informed by both art and science
  • Understand what motivates the communities on Twitch, and collaborate with Twitch Studios to develop content formats that evolve what multi-player live entertainment can be on the the platform
  • Understand what motivates the Creator on Twitch, and collaborate to identify and develop key formats that further their creative possibilities
  • Partner with Marketing on the development of campaign beats aligned with editorial beats, and key messages to engage existing and new viewers
  • Leverage all of Twitch’s assets and the diversity of activity happening across the platform daily to build tentpole marketable moments
  • Oversee the strategy, pipeline, and integration of Extensions across the Content org
  • Ensure that extensions are developed scalably, with integration opportunities across content formats and verticals
  • Leverage extensions as a tool for content discovery and cross-promotion
  • Understand interaction rates and sentiment to inform how extensions further develop or integrate into show formats

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience converting audience insights into successful content and programming strategy
  • Affinity for data and insights, and the collaboration with the team of analysts to understand what works and why
  • A creative mind that can shape content concepts for maximum effectiveness
  • A curiosity for communities and the role that content and storytelling plays in building relationships
  • Skill at informing tune-in social & influencer marketing strategies
  • Desire and ability to launch a teach from scratch and shape its remit as it grows
  • Desire to grow and mentor on-team talent
  • Ability to effective manage stakeholders across the organization and evangelize for support of needs and requirements
  • Ability to forge relationships across a growing and evolving organization with complex decision influences
