Twitch’s legal department is seeking a Senior Manager - Compliance to lead and build our compliance function at Twitch. This is an exciting opportunity for a candidate with a proven track record of performance to have the opportunity to design a compliance program for Twitch from the ground up. The compliance program will primarily support Twitch’s product/engineering and security teams on privacy, product, and content compliance, but will also liaise with Amazon’s compliance teams on global trade and corporate compliance. This position will report directly into the Legal organization.


  • Develop and execute a comprehensive compliance strategy: ensure that an effective program is in place to address Twitch’s regulatory compliance risks and responsibilities. Primary subject areas include: privacy, data security, content and youth protection regulations, accessibility, global trade compliance, compliance with platform policies, and user commitments
  • Conduct risk assessments to identify and rank current risks, and recommend strategy to mitigate gaps throughout the organization and/or take corrective actions to implement solutions to improve controls/operations
  • Establish ongoing effective processes, controls and self-testing to understand, enhance, and manage Twitch’s compliance
  • Guide management in the development/review of applicable policies, procedures and business practices
  • Develop and conduct trainings to educate company on compliance
  • Conduct audits, establish and manage tracking and monitoring compliance goals, and tooling; and follow up with various teams to ensure compliance deadlines are met
  • Clearly and timely communicate findings, determinations and recommendations to management and stakeholders, both at periodic intervals and as needed regarding escalated or high risk compliance issues, in order to accomplish compliance goals.
  • Lead core documentation on compliance efforts, and ensure proper record-keeping associated with each program
  • Aid in resolution of compliance issues and inquiries (e.g. respond to inquiries from regulatory agencies)
  • Work with various members of the legal team, and liaise with Amazon’s Global Trade Compliance, PCI Compliance, privacy audit, and corporate (business conduct and ethics, anti-trust) compliance teams, to effectively apply existing compliance resources and frameworks to Twitch’s business
  • Interact regularly with international teams, working with local counsel on international laws and regulations, to incorporate and implement them in connection with Twitch’s products and operations


  • B.S. Degree, preferably in computer science
  • 8+ years prior experience in compliance, risk management or other internal control functions related to emerging technologies and devices, within a complex international organization, particularly experience with operationalizing privacy compliance frameworks at scale
  • Program or project management training or experience; solid understanding of compliance and project management practices, tools and methodologies
  • Excellent critical thinking and analytical skills, with strong ability to translate concepts into clear steps and communicate them to stakeholders
  • Highly motivated, with the drive to work independently, plan and accomplish goals, manage and prioritize projects with deadlines, and ability to thrive in a fast paced, changing environment
  • Ability to work with ambiguity, demonstrating resourcefulness in accessing hard to find information and exercising sound judgement
  • A consensus builder with great people skills, who can effectively and efficiently collaborate and build relationships with multiple functions and collaborators throughout the organization to get needed information and solve complex problems
