About the Position

The Twitch experience is deeply rooted in the behaviors gamers love the most: live, interactive, shared experiences. The Twitch service has created a host of features including extensions, drops, co-streaming and chat that, combined with our community, create an infinite number of opportunities to develop what we call “Multiplayer Entertainment.”

The Sr. Programming Strategist will help strategically test, measure and optimize new and evolving Multiplayer Entertainment content. This role requires a keen ability to analyze complex content performance and audience data and transform it into immediately actionable creative strategy and optimization recommendations. The ideal candidate has experience growing audiences, optimizing distribution channels, and shaping creative development with data-driven insights.


  • Track and measure the performance of key content programs against viewership and engagement KPIs
  • Design strategic content tests and partner with internal and external content teams to execute these tests
  • Use data-driven audience and content insights to inform the content development and acquisition pipelines
  • Establish a data-driven understanding of what categories, formats, and creative tactics make content successful on Twitch
  • Create content case studies highlighting effective best practices or learnings
  • Work with the Partnerships and Communications teams to syndicate content best practices to the broader Twitch creator and partner communities
  • Collaborate with the Content Insights team to set KPIs, and construct the tables and dashboards to effectively track and measure content performance
  • Use learnings to develop product and category specific content “Playbooks”
  • Partner with the Programming Manager to ensure all points of distribution are optimized for audience reach and retention
  • Partner with Social teams to measure and optimize the effectiveness of our social content
  • Leverage the full depth of Twitch’s data tools and insights teams to understand each target audience segment
  • Partner with Product Management and Product Marketing to inform a product roadmap that aids in the creation, discoverability, and measurability of content
  • Identify key research projects that will influence Twitch’s overall content business and partner with the Content Insights team to prioritize and execute these projects


  • 5+ years working within a creative organization using data to shape creative strategy and grow audiences
  • Proven track record of using data to generate insight and drive business results
  • A demonstrated ability to partner with creative teams to quickly translate data-driven insights into strategic content test and channel optimizations
  • Experience designing and maintaining content performance dashboards
  • Knowledge of at least 2 digital media analytics platforms (youtube, facebook, snapchat, twitch)
  • A deep understanding of content discovery mechanisms (algorithms) and optimization levers within a digital media platform
  • An understanding of the interconnected stakeholders in a digital media ecosystem - content creators, media companies, advertisers, and viewers
  • Ability to forge relationships across a growing and evolving organization with complex decision influences
  • A highly organized and self-motivated discipline and a willingness to carve a path towards a defined goal when there are no established protocols or processes
