As a Software Engineer for the Growth team, you will work seamlessly across framework boundaries and product lines to drive every single Twitch visitor towards habitual viewership and help our creators make a living doing something that they love.

We’re looking for interest and experience in front end web programming (JS frameworks, tooling, modern browser awareness). Bonus points if you also have interest and experience in server side programming (web architecture, SOA, database architecture).

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain performant, responsive and delightful web features
  • Specify, implement, and maintain the services that will power these features
  • Embrace and champion engineering best practices within your group and Twitch
  • Produce clean, high quality code, tests, and documentation
  • Actively engage in code and design reviews with peers and partners
  • Contribute engineering input and feedback into product planning processes
  • Partner with fellow engineering teams to deliver on complex initiatives together

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience engineering web applications with frontend focus (open to fullstack)
  • Proficiency with HTML, CSS, and expertise in at least one modern JavaScript framework
  • Familiarity with scalability, concurrency, API design, data modeling, and distributed systems fundamentals
  • Ability to apply quantitative reasoning and UX design principles to building applications
  • Strong organizational and communication skills

Bonus Points

  • Experience in growth engineering or similar product-oriented discipline
  • Familiarity with scalability, concurrency, API design, data modeling, and distributed systems fundamentals
  • Experience with React.js and GraphQL
  • Experience writing Go in production systems
  • You are a Twitch user yourself
