Duties and Responsibilities

  • Serves as the liaison between existing gaming Registered Independent Organizations (RIO) and the UH Esport program.
  • Assist in managing competitive collegiate participation in competitive tournaments (CSL, cLoL, and Tespa) in different esports titles.
  • Assist in recruiting members to the UH Esport program from the wider UH student community.
  • Review and approve competitive schedules.
  • Review and approve competitive practice schedules.
  • Maintain information on student-gamer history for competitions.
  • Maintain a safe and inclusive environment for students participating in the esports program.
  • Assist in outreach activities of the UH Esport Program with high schools and the larger community.
  • Maintain a social network presence of the UH Esport Program.
  • Assist in the development of a business plan to sustain the UH Esport Program.
  • Assist in the management of the esport facility at UH Manoa.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Possession of a baccalaureate degree in Education, Business Administration, Computer Science or Communications and 0 year(s) of progressively responsible professional experience with responsibilities for NA; or equivalent education/training or experience.
  • Functional knowledge of principles, practices and techniques in esports demonstrated by knowledge, understanding and ability to apply concepts, terminology.
  • Functional knowledge and understanding of principles, theories, federal and state laws, rules, regulations and systems associated with esports.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate a personal computer and apply word processing software.
  • Demonstrated ability to recognize problems, identify possible causes and resolve the full range problems that may commonly occur in the esports.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand oral and written documentation, write reports and procedures, and communicate effectively in a variety of situations.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external organizations, groups, team members and individuals.
  • Experience with collegiate esport ecosystem.
  • Experience with social media.
  • Working knowledge of Registered Independent Organizations.
  • Ability to work a variable work schedule; and work outside normally scheduled work hours including day, night, weekend, and/or holiday hours, as directed.
  • Any equivalent combination of education and/or professional work experience which provides the required education, knowledge, skills and abilities as indicated.
